Kent Junior League - Round 1
Our swimmers and supporters arrived at Seven Island Leisure centre to contest the first round of the Kent Junior League. This gala was always going to b a test for our swimmers following promotion last season. Our cause was not helped by a drastically depleted squad following late withdrawals. However this did not deter our gallant swimmers who produced 18 personal best times from 32 individual races. A special well done must go to Harrison Cornwell & Rhys Nolan and Natasha Warr. By the end of an exhausting evening the club finished in a very creditable 4th place. See Gala Results for full results from this gala.
Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part in this event and thanks to all the helpers on poolside.
Report produced by Steve Turrell with the assistance of Sharon Warr. Click here for full resuls for this gala.
Kent Selection
Freddie Mawhood and Ross Fisher have both been selected to represent Kent in Darmstadt, Germany from 9th - 13th July. Whilst Ross is unable to attend, every one at the club would like to wish Freddie our very best wishes for this event.
Well done the pair of you; this is just reward for the hard work you put into your swimming.
Annual General Meeting
We will be holding our AGM on Thursday 18th June, just 2 weeks away.
It will be in the Old Bar at White Oak Leisure Centre at 7.30 pm (past Treasure Island, round the corner and it's on your left).
The club is run by volunteers alone, being swimmer's or past swimmer's parents.
(The ONLY people who are paid are SOME of the coaches, and then only at a non-commercial rate.)
All parents are busy people, but just a few hours a month keeps the club running.
PLEASE consider completing a Nomination form for a committee member.
Even if you can't spare the time to be a committee member we are in real need of volunteers for various small jobs, which individually are possible, but left to one or two people are a burden.PLEASE come to the AGM to air your views, make suggestions, offer your help with a small job, or indeed to agree to be nominated for committee or as an officer.
The AGM is an informal meeting and it would be good to see as many parents as possible show an interest in the club.
